The primary years are the years in which children learn to use languages to communicate. Throughout the early years, different forms of language including the classroom language, their mother tongue, and second/foreign languages are being reinforced via building an environment to which children can connect. Besides, like other IB schools, our primary section is committed to multilingualism in order to foster international-mindedness and getting familiar with various perspectives.
English is the language of inclusion and instruction. SMEF students use English in the academic setting and rely on English to make friends with children from other countries and backgrounds such as, in the playground, in the cafeteria, etc.
To respect the language of the host country, SMEF offers Persian Literature to all the students. French is taught as the Language of acquisition in this stream.
