Observatory
Mahani Observatory is one of the leading scientific centers for the promotion of astronomy in Iran and the wider region. Equipped with 16-inch and 6-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, a specialized solar observation telescope, and a full HD digital planetarium, the observatory offers comprehensive facilities for education, research, and space exploration—operating 24 hours a day.
In addition to its outstanding equipment, Mahani Observatory benefits from the expertise of experienced scientific and educational staff and maintains active collaborations with top university institutions. These features have placed the observatory in a distinguished position among regional scientific centers.
To promote astronomical knowledge at various levels and foster a love for this profound science among the general public and enthusiasts, the observatory organizes a variety of programs, including:

Laboratories
Our school is equipped with three fully functional laboratories: one each for Physics, Chemistry, and a combined lab for Biology and Geology. These labs are specifically designed to provide hands-on, experiential learning opportunities that support and enhance students’ academic development. We place strong emphasis on integrating classroom instruction with practical experiments to ensure that students gain a deep and thorough understanding of scientific concepts.
Libraries
We take pride in our well-stocked libraries, offering a diverse collection of books ranging from the latest scientific publications to timeless classics and contemporary literary works. Younger students can enjoy reading in a specially designed library that provides a calm and age-appropriate environment. Additionally, we offer a separate, well-equipped library for older students, tailored to support their academic and personal growth.
Music Classroom
Music classrooms offer a creative and engaging space where students explore musical expression through performance, composition, and analysis. Our studio supports students in creating, recording, and refining their musical ideas using digital tools. These experiences help students develop technical skills, cultural awareness, and personal expression, reflecting the PYP’s commitment to holistic and meaningful learning.
ICT Lab
SMEF’s computer labs are equipped with 60 computer systems, each connected to interactive boards, ensuring that every student has individual access during computer classes for an effective and engaging learning experience.
Swimming Pool
Our indoor pools, sauna, and Jacuzzi provide year-round opportunities for aquatic activities, unaffected by weather conditions. With two indoor pools, students of all skill levels—whether beginners or experienced swimmers—can actively participate in swimming during physical education classes. Beyond regular lessons, students also have the chance to engage in extracurricular activities such as swimming competitions. To ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety, ozone generators are used for advanced water purification.
Gymnasium
Sports activities are highly valued at our school, and students are encouraged to develop a passion for at least one athletic discipline. Our multipurpose gymnasium spans over 700 square meters and features a high-quality suspension parquet floor. It is equipped with top-tier products from leading manufacturers in the athletic equipment industry, including systems for basketball, badminton, volleyball, and more. To maintain a safe and high-performing environment, we also provide regular inspection, maintenance, and renovation services, ensuring the gym remains a reliable space for students to learn, grow, and play.
Auditorium
The school’s gallery serves as a stunning entrance to the main offices—an impressive blend of traditional Persian art and contemporary architectural design. Spanning 1,000 square meters, this beautiful and spacious area is used to showcase students’ artistic creations and host events such as book fairs. Our auditorium, with a seating capacity of 300, provides students with a platform to present their learning outcomes through performances and presentations. It also serves as the venue for major school events, including Parent-Teacher Conferences, the Mahdavi Talk, graduation ceremonies, Teachers’ Appreciation Day, and other community gatherings that celebrate learning, achievement, and collaboration.
